About the Research Session

Welcome! This session (and this guide) are designed specifically for your course this summer. During our time together, we will use this guide to practice researching careers to help you become familiar with library resources as well as resources available on the internet. Remember that you can access this guide from off-campus to find trusted information on a variety of different careers. The goal of the library session is to

  • Introduce you to the kinds of career resources and services College of Marin libraries have to offer.
  • Identify appropriate sources that contain relevant information (OOH, O*Net, CA Career Zone, etc.)
  • Practice how to analyze and synthesize career and job information in order to successfully complete career exploration assignments.
