Welcome to the Library

Welcome, Speech 110 Students!

Welcome, Speech 110 Students! This guide will help you find sources for your speeches. It will also help you cite your sources in MLA format.

From Professor Severson:

"You will be required to provide a complete list of references for your term topic. Your bibliography must include a variety of sources and include at least 25 complete references in a clear MLA format."

"You should have a minimum of 25 sources (2 points each) for your bibliography. You may complete 15 additional sources (1 point each) for extra credit."

"The bulk of your research should come from college databases. There should be very few if any Internet sources in your bibliography. Any more than 10% of the total and they will not be counted for purposes of grading. You may not use Wikipedia in your bibliography, or speech. Currency is an issue and no more than 10% of your sources can be prior to 2014 unless you are doing a historical topic and have spoken to me about this issue ahead of time."
