Prepare a food that has a cultural connection for you and/or your family and bring enough to offer each member of the class a small portion to taste.
Using the Library databases and/or other academic research tools and materials, research the historical and cultural roots of your food.
You are required to do research on the history of the food and its connection to your cultural heritage and possibly to other cultures; and to provide a list of at least three appropriate references.
- Consider any special method of preparation and consumption that are specifically related to your culture.
3. Prepare a short oral presentation (not less than seven minutes and not more than ten minutes) about the food you brought to class.
A note about the Library: Did you know that the Library has over 50 databases? The databases included on this guide will be the most useful as you work on the Food Presentation. The yellow tab titled "Encyclopedias" is a great place to start your research!
